variant of rods with a fine thread, i.e. with a slower rise, thanks to which it is possible to achieve a better tightening force and a higher resistance to vibrations, for example. Very similar to the previous class 8.8 in refined condition. Suitable for joints subjected to high loads, recommended for friction joints with controlled tightening. It achieves a higher tensile strength (above 1000MPa), which may have certain limitations in connection with the risk of hydrogen embrittlement. This strength class has limited options for galvanic galvanizing, it is necessary to take measures in the form of dewatering of the components (a more complex process that entails a higher price). A special application (GEOMET®, DACROMET®, etc.) is often recommended for surface treatment, where length restrictions apply for custom production (usually up to 800mm). Guarantee of notch toughness min. 27J at -20°C. Made of carbon or alloy steel, hardened and tempered.
